What attractions are in the local area?
There are heaps of great things to do and see in and around Launceston, so we've thrown together a few of our faves.
A brief 5-minute walk will get you to the local Harvest Market. This is located at, 71 Cimitiere Street and starts at 8:30 am, finishing at 12:30 pm, every Saturday. We highly recommend Harvest as it features some of the best local Tassie produce.
Cataract George Reserve
This unique, natural formation is just a short 20-minute walk from Change Overnight and offers walking tracks, a swimming pool, the world’s longest single span chairlift, a restaurant, café, suspension bridge and panoramic lookouts with spectacular views. It is also free!
Tamar Valley Wine Route
Some of Tasmania’s most well-known wineries are only a quick drive away in the iconic Tamar Valley. With over 25 vineyards listed on the trail, along with a variety of other local businesses a day on the Tamar Valley Wine Route is not to be missed.
Design Centre Tasmania
The Design Centre is for all those who love beautiful local products. Those that love timber, be sure to have a look. It is just on the outskirts of the city park and around a 5-minute walk away.
View some snow monkeys, play in the playground, watch the ducks frolicking about, observe a well-maintained conservatory, take the kids for a train ride or simply sit and enjoy some time out, the City Park is the place for you. Only 5 minutes away from Change Overnight.
University of Tasmania Stadium
A 15-20 minute walk and you will be at the entrance to our local Stadium. We hope you are supporting our local teams, Hawthorn Football Club or the Hobart Hurricanes!
