Unconquered: Sanitary Pad Factory
Almost 250 million girls and women in India cannot afford hygienic sanitary products, nor are they aware or educated around menstruation. The Unconquered Project empowers local women to manufacture and sell affordable sanitary pads and to provide menstrual education – by women, for women.
Incidents of Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI) is 70% more common among these women and inadequate menstrual protection makes adolescent girls (age group 12-18 years) miss 5 days of school in a month (50 days a year). Around 23% of these girls actually drop out of school after they start menstruating.
We support Unconquered: Sanitary Pad Factory because:
Unconquered are setting up sanitary pad manufacturing units, lead by local women who will manufacture, market and sell the quality but affordably priced products, along with providing community education and toilet facilities for women
Staying at change provides: 80 packs of sanity pads.
